Ireland
Ireland is located in North Western
Europe. It has a population of almost 4 million people in an area measuring
70,282 sq. km.
The warming influence of the Gulf Stream
ensures a uniform and moderate climate throughout the country. Average air
temperatures in January and February, the coldest months, are roughly between 4
D.C. and 6 D. C.. The two
warmest months are July and August and have average temperatures between 14
D.C. and 16 D.C. but
occasionally reaching as high as 25 D.C.
Ireland is a parliamentary democracy. It
has two house of Parliament, an elected President who is head of State and Prime
Minister ( Taoiseach) who is Head of Government. Ireland gained independence
from Great Britain in 1922, and in 1949 Ireland became a Republic. Ireland
joined the European Economic Community in 1973 and has played an Important role
in the affairs of the community since then.
DUBLIN CITY
With the success of the Celtic tiger
economy, Ireland`s capital, Dublin City , has flourished and gained a reputation
for culture and entertainment which has made it one of the most popular city
destinations in Europe. The city has a predominantly young population, but it
has a great variety of attractions for people of all ages, which are easily
reached on foot or by public transport.
